Please. Do it. Just do it. We won't stop you, in fact we encourage you to move forward. left, right, conservative or progressive, Americans are united in our belief this is a thing you should all do.
For progressives, well they want to save the planet. And for conservatives, heck, they don't care what you do. For me I hope it to be...clarifying to the rest of the world when the entre thing goes down in flames.
But I hesitate, only slightly, because they will somehow make it all our fault when their masterful plan inevitably fails. As they saying goes, "And I would have gotten away with it too, except for you meddling kids!"
