“A lie can run round the world before the truth has got its boots on.” It’s one of my thousands of favourite Pratchett quotes and, for a change, it is a quote by a baddie, who sincerely believes that the above makes lies more powerful than the truth. He is, of course, eventually proven wrong, much to his astonishment, and justice triumphs.

Truth is simply painful. Another elephant in the room, please see the LLNL energy flow chart of the US for 2021, you see that 2/3 of the energy is wasted. All the economic activities are performed within this framework of 33% efficient energy grid. How can any mathematically sophisticated probabilistic technique beat the second law of thermodynamics?
Yet more reason to worry? To be fair this has been going on for yrs, especially at the supposedly (politically) neutral BBC (Biased Broadcasting Company) here in the UK. They publically gave up presenting 2 sides to the climate change argument... but I still have to pay for them. I've never ever bought the AGW nonsense since the early 1990s but Covid has hardened my stance on remaining firmly skeptical about everything I'm told by Govts and state actors.
What a time to be alive, eh? And we haven't even scratched the surface of AI/deep fake making an impact on... our shattered sense of reality
