Would love to see a climate change believer’s face as they read this piece - facts getting in the way.

Irina, you write so well.

They would simply dismiss it as pro-oil propaganda or something along those lines. Everything one disagrees with today is labelled propaganda, after all. Denial of facts has become easier than ever.

The privatization of industries into the hands of fewer hands/families is another interesting thread to follow.

Energy Ignorance is everywhere

Delusions indeed.

131 Trillion dollars is the WSJ cost estimate for the energy transition- that is enough to build 26,200 gigawatts of nuclear power assuming 5 billion per plant (that is the Barakah cost- I think we could easily do 3-5x better if we were building that many). That is enough to power the entire world.

Spending that much on renewables would just be money down the drain, and it wouldn’t even get 20% of the way to the net zero goal. There is no universe where people will spend this much money on something that only lasts 20 years and doesn’t affect the amount of CO2 emissions, even if it makes them feel good inside for a few years.

All of this nonsense will eventually come crashing down and people will eventually just give up and stop caring, no matter how many people glue themselves to the street.

Reading Irina's articles is a much needed dose of reality in a world dominated by out of touch, paid government hacks bent on destroying energy independence and human flourishing.

That's very kind of you, Michael, thank you.
