Made me chuckle a bit. I grew up in Sydney ( a city in permanent denial of Winter but can get quite cool) where standard indoor winter dress was Ugg boots,a beanie and a flannelette shirt. Houses back then and in many neighbourhoods were so bad at insulation and lack of heating that when you got up in the morning you would go outside to warm up! Fingers and toes were always cold. The first time in my life I ever wore a T shirt inside in winter was in the Czech Republic in January.

:D Let me guess -- central heating? In the Czech Republic, that is.

Yep. It is so good compared to what we aussies have. I guess it has to be seriously cold to have it. In Tasmania they start to have it. When i renovated my house in perth i double glazed and insulated properly ( having been shown the way by the Czechs)and halved my power bill, the builder thought i was mad! Ban uninsulated houses not ICEs. We dont need to work on the extremes banning this and that ... we just keep improving. It works and can be according to peoples budgets

That's the smart way, I agree. And much simpler if you think about it.
