I still think the EU should reconsider their fracking bans and start relying more on their own resources. Yes, there are issues with producing oil and gas, but it seems to me, as one who lives in an oil producing region, that the issues are extremely exaggerated by the energy transition propagandist. The issues of energy production are much less onerous than the issues Europe is dealing with now.

Much as I wouldn't want to see gas extraction in the biggest wheat-growing region of Bulgaria (which is where the shale gas is, presumably) I have to agree with you. Better to drill for shale gas than cover the fields with solar panels. And, of course, any degree of self-sufficiency is better than relying on imports.

Yes that’s what I’m thinking. The gas is being produced somewhere. It is better for the planet to produce it close to where it will be used than on the other side of the world which requires more pipelines, LNG tankers, and etc. Locally produced gas should have a smaller environmental impact than imported gas.

It definitely should but oil/gas=bad => we're not doing it on our turf.

But wait, there's more: the EU is now relaxing local mining regulations to mine its own battery metals at home!
