Those chilly EV dudes are precious. Excuse me while I laboriously winch my jaw back up from the floor.

Thank your husband for the quote: “And he drove five miles before the battery died, right?”. I needed a laugh today

Ev Batteries don't like heat either . They lose charge quickly. In remote Western Australia make sure you pack lot water and an EPIRB

I’m not sure if it’s bad form to link other work here. If so, just let me know Irina.

Here’s my somewhat abstract take on the zombies:

You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Could we get a certificate printed up for people that understand this very complex statement?

FANTASTIC post! 👍

Like the movie zombies, the climate zombies are only frightening the children and weak minded now. Most adults have seen the results and are starting to realize the folly. Bullshit can’t triumph over physics, thermodynamics and economics forever. The end is coming, and desperation is setting it. You are correct. At least I hope so!

How EVs make sense in Canada and Chicago: 1. If your commute is only 5 miles. 2. If you have a home charger so you won't have to find a charger that's working and where there are no lines. 3. If you have another, gas or diesel-fired vehicle for backup. 4. If you have a gas, propane, or diesel generator for backup during power outages so you can still charge your EV (if you really want to)

While there may be a finite amount of resources like oil or gas, it appears the one truly infinite thing is the stupidity of the transitioners. Loved the quotes about how EVs are always on

Idiocy and well, just this week Catherine McKenna, whose initials could also stand for Climate Moron, the former Canadian Environment Minister, was lambasting the world about the horrific damage wrought on Canada and Canadians by the dreaded climate change induced fires. And then,as in the vast majority of our fires, the truth comes out. The largest fire in Nova Scotia history occurred last year, an event where climateers screamed "end of world" as they wrung their hands, flailing, then falling to the ground to beg forgiveness of Mother Earth. IT WAS A PERSON WITH A MATCH. I believe we need a dark tunnel that only climateers are drawn into, with promises of net zero on the other end, that closes behind them and makes them all disappear into the ether. :)

There is no transition but a growing shift in thinking the greenies are truly insane. And that causes head banging by the leftists. Let’s hope they keep banging their heads until no longer able to function - uh oh . . . They are already there!

One thing I struggle with is that we can't solve the problem of climate change without having real conversations about what is possible and what simply...isn't.

I bet you are looking forward to being able to grow tropical plants like mangos, pineapples and bananas. Next year perhaps ? :) All those photos of black ice my cousin sent from Germany are fake.

Absolutely brilliant. And spot-on, as well. Thank you.

Speaking of higher electricity costs, EVs are electricity hogs. They require far more electricity than any other electrical device in the home (including AC and furnaces).

With more and more EVs on the road, the demand for electricity will rise in concert.

The higher the demand for electricity, the higher its cost, putting more & more people in the dark & cold.

The higher the cost of electricity, the more that EV owners will mothball their EVs because of the cost to charge them, rendering them unable to even go grocery shopping.

A side-note: Grocery stores rely heavily on electricity to power their refrigerators, freezers, and lighting. As the price of electricity rises, so will food costs.

If governments mandate EVs and people have only EVs. this will be a nightmare along the lines of Stalin's mandating the industrialization of the Soviet Union.
