Max Brooks’ “World War Z”, which tells the story of a fictional zombie apocalypse and humanity’s ultimate victory over the undead, features a minor character in the beginning who always complains.
Like some people I know, this character — a Chinese government official — is never happy with anything at all and always, always expects the worst. Until one day, soon after the outbreak, a friend of his asks what’s going on and whether it’s dangerous. The character says “Everything will be fine.”
The friend, who narrates the story, follows this highly unusual statement with a comment along the lines of “It was at that moment that I realised we’re doomed.”
The EV industry has been in full “Everything will be fine” mode for a couple of months now as the latest sales figures come in and they show that the revolution we’ve been primed for is nowhere to be seen yet, after years of promises it’s going to take off any minute now. And because I like to chronicle the revolution that never happened, here’s the latest from the EV front.
