Alas, it’s all so predictable. It reminds me of the great line, attributed, I believe, to Willie Nelson when his wife walked in on him while in bed with another woman, “What are you going to believe, what you think you see, or what I tell you?”
This is the 'sustainable' energy version of what happens with vaccines: Infertility, turbo-cancer, strokes have all increased dramatically since the global mRNA Convid jab, with one female in Canada dropping dead to the floor in 7 minutes, but 'Cause Uknown'.
If this doesn't tell you media and industry have been fully captured, nothing will. Btw. Nobody is going to save us. We can only save ourselves and our communities.
Thank you Irina. My fount of very detailed and coherent information and wisdom on the great Iberian blackout, is Kathryn Porter. If I understood and remember adequately, the Spanish grid operators failed to have enough inertia in the system, in the form of gas-fired generators with their associated heavy rotating turbines, inertia that wind and solar inverters don't provide. The blackout might have propagated into France, but for their grid inertia provided by their nuclear plant. In having such a high, if temporary, penetration of wind and solar, the Iberian grid had wandered off the map: Spain: the final frontier.......to boldly go where no one has gone before.
My thoughts as well Ian. I did wonder if Spain might have ridden out the problem had they more battery storage. I believe they have a much lower proportion of battery storage than the UK. I don't know, but it might have both stabilised the grid and given time for the gas stations to get up to speed.
Intermittency and frequency drop-offs are the most *logical course* to investigate a sudden grid breakdown that spectacular.
Alas, logic has been long thrown to the wolves in this insane world of double-tongued anti-secularism in the press and by official spokespeople, where religion seems to be factored back into "science" to deny physiological effects.
I'd not trust any "goverment report" that does not actually report *on the government* itself as far as I could throw it attached to a brass olympian trowing disc.
"Um, you see, hmm, we had a sudden drop of the plane into what seemed to be dead air. But then the wings flew off in both directions when a Gremlin ate the cabling. We had some screaming witnesses who shouted at the critter gnawing away at them! Of course they all went missing when the plane went down in the Bermuda Triangle, so you have to excuse taking our word for it from the classified black box recordings. Trust me!"
Maybe a stretch but this reminds me of the covid vaccine b.s. ‘If you get the jab you won’t get covid…well you won’t transmit it…but you could still get it unless you get boosted…you may get it and transmit it but by getting the shot, if you get covid, it won’t be as bad.’ During that time I was simply amazed how people just ‘forgot’ what they were told only months prior. I see similarities here.
Thanks for the update - interesting since I just listened to this youtube video right before I read your article. Take a listen and let us know what you think.
Public utilities are obviously political organizations. I had hopes that the INDEPENDENT System Operators would be different. Silly me. There is no downside to them lying to please politicians, so they do. We are seeing the initial stages of what happens when the pile of lies gets too deep with the situation in PJM.
I think the too much solar not enough inertia explanation is very likely correct.
Lengthy technical report conclusion: gee whiz, we just haven’t a clue, don’t ask us.
Let’s concentrate on what didn’t cause it, and cover up lack of inertia by talking voltage.
Maybe… maybe… solar/wind were not the initiating cause, but they were the facilitating cause and why, whatever the mystical cause, it could so easily shut down the grid. The grid cascade-tripped because the frequency fluctuated - voltage surges do that - outside the parameters necessary to maintain a stable grid. And that was because the grid lacked inertia because there was too little spinning generation, 70% being provided by solar/wind generators that cannot provide inertia and grid stability.
Solution: restrict how much input is from wind/solar to keep the major input spinning generation, ie fossil fuels. That does of course torpedo the decarbonised grid fantasy. And curiously, despite it having nothing to do with inertia or wind/solar, just coincidentally 58% of generation is now spinning generation.
As a word, "lying" is a lot shorter than "spreading disinformation."
Wind isn't cheaper, and no one is curtailing it. Wind power generator operators are still paid, or the entire subsidy scheme falls apart. If electricity excess to demand isn't dumped - lost as heat - it causes the dreaded surge. What they seem to be doing in Spain is keeping more dispatchable power on line so that it can be easily dumped as reliable generators follow the load. A deliberate waste created to maintain those subsidies.
Bloomberg's conflict of interest is pretty well established.
Irina, the most interesting part of all this controversy is how let’s say the greenies and their media lackies seem to speak contradictory statements all over as you so well indicate. All one really has to detail is there are now voltage and frequency anomalies and imbalances that did not exist when the grid was solely synchronous 24/7 generation. The introduction of asynchronous generation that is not 24/7 generation has introduced controversy and challenges not seen before. When those control challenges are further complicated by asynchronous generation getting preference sometimes by government direction, other times by pricing schemes schewed to asynchronous generation that grid gets confused. Now factor in synchronous generation having to throttle back generation because of those other preferences more risky situations pop up. It’s difficult for the engineers and operators to control those situations and the directional and frequency and voltage relay protection. One event channels to another and another and generation of all types are tripped off. Again the grid built and operated on synchronous generation from generator to load for over 100 years basically acts to protect itself by cutting off generation. Nope asynchronous solar, wind and BESS have no contribution to the events or blackouts NOT.

I believe said wife tied him up in the bedsheets & beat him with a broom handle. The beatings will continue until the bobbleheads perfect their lying.

Funny I had not read your comment prior to post in mine about vaccines.
The Gaslighting is absolutely wild and the media is either stupid and/or complicit.
My vote is for complicit.
I vote for both.
Stupid and complicit and corrupt and venal and useless

Thank you Steve - I believe the answer is, not at present, as Kathryn Porter explains here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVJjlwMnz-Y

Well yes. I've yet to see an air accident investigation conclude with "dunno mate".

Lying liars lying.
Is there any wonder trust in the media is at an all-time low in the US? Can't speak for Europe but the media is 100% produced lies.
„The very next sentence? “The reasons for these events are not known.”
Animism was, is, and always be, the true religion of mankind.

Fairy tales.

I am battling the ERCOT Permian plan here and when you look at it - you see how vulnerable it will make our grid.
Also good article on GRIDBRIEF - I keep saying this transmission plan is outdated before it begins!

It's the three monkeys in full effect - don't see, don't hear, and especially: don't speak. Thanks for digging into this!
